Important Summer Update 6/27

 Hi everyone!

We hope you have had a fantastic summer so far. The coaches have made a few changes to the summer practice schedule. It is linked here.

A few notable changes to the summer schedule:

  • We will not be meeting on Fridays for the rest of the summer. Athletes are encouraged to train on their own or with a group (the workouts are still posted on the calendar linked above).
  • There is no practice Monday, July 4th.
  • Beginning Wednesday, 6/29, most HRHS practices will be in the weight room. Because of the football team's schedule and a few other camps using the weight room, we have a very limited window of time to use it. Therefore, on Mondays/Wednesdays, we will be lifting for roughly one hour. Athletes will be instructed to run on their own in the evenings.
Other important updates:
  • The My School Bucks payment site for both summer training and XC Camp is linked on the bottom of the first page of the updated schedule.
  • Please sign up for XC Camp (July 25-28) no later than July 11.
  • Q-Man planning is in full swing! A list of needed donations and the sponsor letter are listed and linked on the second page of the schedule.
    • please email Coach Chase or Coach Bliven if you receive any Q-Man donations!
    • Parents: please email Coach Chase if you are interested in becoming more involved with helping organize Q-Man.
Please email mchase1@dcsdk12.org with any questions!

Summer XC Information!

 Team,

I know a lot of us are about to hit finals mode or are fully in spring sports mode but I wanted to send out all the information for summer cross country with some big updates.

Summer
Here is all our summer information. This includes information about athlete-led practices, coaches-led practices, where we are meeting for practices, all the workouts, and information about our end-of-summer camp.

Please use this link to RSVP so we can know the numbers, important for both but especially important for camp.

Coaches
As many of you know, Coach Zook is having a baby this summer! Unfortunately for us, that means that she will be on maternity leave during the season. She is still helping with Q-Man and the behind-the-scenes work before maternity leave.

We do have a new coach this year. Coach Erin Straubel is currently finishing up school at Colorado Christian University where she competes in track and cross country. She will be joining us this summer and into the season, so let's make sure we give her a good welcome!

Q-Man
Mark your calendars, we will be having Q-Man on Saturday, August 13th.

Athletes, we will be having an informational meeting for those that want to be involved on May 10th during access in Mr. Douglass' room. Please plan on attending, but if you can't and still want to help, let a coach know.

Parents, we still need a ton of help, please sign up to help here.

Questions
Just because this email was long, doesn't mean I forgot something! Please reach out if you have any questions.

Happy running!
