Meet Our Coaches

Dominic Douglass - Head Coach

Coach Douglass will be starting his 7th year at Highlands Ranch High School as a social studies teacher, Head Coach for Boys and Girls Cross Country and Head Coach for track while mostly overseeing the distance team.

Aside from coaching, Coach Douglass was a seven-time varsity award winner (3 cross country, 4 track), a state place winner for track, a state qualifier for cross country and was part of the group that set a Colorado record for most points scored at State by a distance team during his time at Highlands Ranch as a student. Coach Douglass has been running since he was 10 years old, running distance since 2007, and has competed in events ranging from 100m all the way up to the marathon.

She is ready to apply what she learned about teamwork, dedication, and perseverance through swimming to cross country. She is very excited to get to know, encourage, and coach students.

Katie Updyke -- Assistant Coach

Miss Updyke is excited to join us for her 6th Cross Country season. She is a Colorado Native. What she most loves about Cross Country is getting to see the students outside of the classroom. Her favorite race is the Dave Sanders Memorial Invite, because she grew up in Littleton. She is looking forward to seeing Highlands Ranch rock it this year.
